Burning Memories

  • by

A memory of a smile unmoveable
Not only on my face
Through my soul
Lighting every inch of me
Warming every fibre
I gaze into the night

Fire burns behind me
Glowing reflection upon the glass
Its burning heat drying my skin
I remember a touch, your touch upon me
With eyes closing, I sigh

A memory of those things not mine to take
Pushing at the boundaries of my mind
Clawing at the walls around my heart
A safe place to hide from you
I cry into the dark

Fire burns behind me
burning paint around the glass
Its precious flame licking my skin
As I burn the past, and all of me
With eyes closed, I cry.
